As beautiful as it is informative, this 12-minute documentary by Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) deftly navigates the complex issue of ocean acidification and explains how it can have an impact on those of us living thousands of miles away.
All aspects of marine life are being impacted by the changing chemical composition of the ocean due to the increased CO2 the ocean has been absorbing from the air. “The ocean has been providing a huge climate service, by having a great capacity to absorb C02” one of the scientists tells us. As a result, the ocean is changing faster than it has in 55 million years.
